The TransLantau 140, a new entry on the UTMB© circuit, has previously made its name with the 100km course as a race that needs intense training in order to complete, and that’s why we’re here!
The float training program is a targeted plan catering towards this tough event, which comprises a hefty 7,000m D+ taking the runner over Lantau’s big and brutal peaks.
Steep climbs and technical terrain is littered throughout the course, adding to the intensity of this race, which is why hill repeats and stair work are a staple of this training plan, as we up the intensity, gradually teaching your body to adapt to the stressors throughout our 16 week plan.
We want you to operate swiftly and efficiently out there on the course. Make those hills your friend, hah!
Our week plan is broken down into a BASE, BUILD, PEAK and TAPER phase with sufficient rest and recovery in between. We have included sufficient speed work to up your overall speed working on increasing your VO2 max to deal with the initial “faster” rolling 20km of single track of CMW.
A few longer runs with progressive efforts will have you pushing into the final KMs of your training runs, adapting the system to enable you to easily tackle that last heft climb up Sunset Peak and rolling hills around DB.
Night running becomes a factor too in this race, hence a few night sessions are catered for during training sessions.
We gradually build your aerobic and anaerobic engine to get you to physically peak going into the race. Join us in training for this epic ultra and we’ll have you primed and prepped and ready to destroy Lantau Island!

The TransLantau 100, now a staple on the UTMB© circuit, has previously made its name as one that needs intense training in order to complete, and we’ve got your back for this!
The float TransLantau 104km training program is a targeted plan catering towards this tough event, which comprises a hefty 5,800m D+. Slower average race times indicate the toughness this course brings with steep climbs and technical terrain littered throughout the course.
Hill repeats and stair work are a staple of this plan, teaching your body to operate swiftly and efficiently out there on the course. Make those hills your friend, hah!
Our structured 14 week plan is broken down into a BASE, BUILD, PEAK and TAPER phase with sufficient rest and recovery in between. We have included sufficient speed work to up your VO2 max and a few longer runs with progressive efforts having you pushing into the final KMs of your training runs, adapting the system to enable you to easily tackle that last heft climb up from Tong Fuk up Sunset Peak.

TransLantau 50
The float TransLantau 50km training program is a targeted plan catering towards this relatively fast (in ultra terms) 50k race, a newcomer on the UTMB© circuit!
Make no mistake this is still a tricky ultra with a gradual overall positive gradient over the first half before tackling Sunset Peak, a 460m ascent.
As a result, longer sustained hill repeats and tempo sessions are a staple of this plan, teaching your body to operate swiftly and efficiently out there on the course.
Our structured 12 week plan is broken down into a BASE, BUILD, PEAK and TAPER phase with sufficient rest and recovery in between.
We have also included sufficient speed work to deal with the initial faster positive rolling 20km of single track, a few longer runs with progressive efforts having you pushing into the final KMs of your training runs, adapting the system accordingly. We gradually build your aerobic and anaerobic engine to get you to physically peak going into the race.
